Portable Chainsaw Mill

Some might think that it is not necessary to have a portable chainsaw mill but with one, you can move it from job site to job site so you can get the job finished instantly.  You do not have to worry about moving the logs to a stationary sawmill. It is a piece of machinery for those that want to do a complete woodworking project by themselves.  It is small enough that you can easily move it and set it up in the field so you can start to work immediately.
Guideline for running a portable chainsaw mill
• Check the site:  Always check out the site where you are required to cut the trees.  You need to make sure that you have a place to turn the truck around if you need it from the site to a different milling spot.  The spot needs to be big enough to work in and maneuver the truck.  Generally, a space that is 30 square feet is large enough.  You also need to have a place to stack the milled logs.
• Set the rail track:  Set the portable mill tracks on even ground is needed before loading the logs.  The drawback with setting the track on the ground is that you will need to pick up the pieces of log each time you cut.  You could raise the chainsaw mill eight to fourteen inches above the rail ties to make it a bit easier.  Remember that the chainsaw mill needs to be as level as possible.  Use a leg screw to keep the adaptable feet of the machine firm when it is running.
• Transporting the logs:  You need to make sure that you know how you are going to get the logs to the portable chainsaw mill.  You can use a front-end loader, trailer, carriage, or van.
• Loading the logs:  When stacking the logs to be cut, you should stack them according to the quality of the timber.  Keep the inferior logs under the stack and the superior logs on top.  This will say you both energy and time.
Using a portable chainsaw mill
It is easy for a person to use a portable chainsaw mill, but if you are a novice, then there are some things to consider.
• Before starting, always make sure that all the supports are placed appropriately for safety and that you have it in a large open space.
• Once this is done you are ready to start your chainsaw mill.
• Put the logs on the mill correctly so they are sawn right.
• Make sure you are wearing goggles and other safety equipment.
Conclusion
Having a portable mill is a good investment, especially if you move from site to site cutting logs.  It will save you time and energy on your projects.  Before using it, always check the fuel to make sure you have enough, and then check the blades to make sure they are sharp.  Before you mill the lumber, always make sure that it is free of dirt and stones that can stick to it.  These things can harm your blade.
